I'm finding myself constantly creating lists of things that I want to do, need to do, have to do, wish I could do, etc.
Being a college student provides little time for exploration into arenas outside of your major (at least for me) but I have been trying to push against the current that keeps pullings me along and have been finding ways to keep myself connected to the things outside of dance that truly interest me. Which leads me to say that these lists I have been creating are not only filled with things to do. Many of them contain ideas or websites that I want to check everyday, even lists of new things I am interested in, lists of books that I want (to read). These lists have taken shape in many different ways; on post-its, on random scraps of paper, in my planner, on old tests, on my phone, on my computer, and many of them only making it as far as my consciousness. Scattered in so many different places that I then start to make a list of my lists, attempting to organize them, thinking that if my lists are organized then I will definitely have time to give each item on the list the attention that it deserves. That has, so far, not been the case.
But this week I am on Spring Break! my one break until the end of the school year. I have promised myself that this week is my time. Time for me to focus on my lists and hopefully (and undoubtedly) make new ones.
I am craving knowledge of new things and desiring to deepen my knowledge of what little I already know. This is my week to accomplish that. This week I am really going to give myself the chance, the time, for exploration into all things that intrigue me with the hopes that I will always have this same desire for the rest of my life.
Spring Break 2010!

Emily
